A collectible porcelain art object born from the collaboration between Inkclaw and artist Fuhai Sun.

The Old School Swallow Porcelain Ashtray reinterprets one of the most recognizable motifs in traditional American tattoo culture through the refined medium of Chinese underglaze porcelain. In old school tattoo language, the swallow has long carried meanings of freedom, loyalty, return, and movement — a small yet powerful symbol deeply rooted in tattoo history.

Unlike surface decoration, underglaze painting is created directly on the ceramic body before being covered with a transparent glaze and fired at high temperature. Through this process, the artwork becomes permanently embedded within the porcelain itself — protected beneath the glaze rather than resting on the surface.

The result is a compact porcelain object defined by clean contrast, smooth luster, and lasting durability. The black-and-white swallow composition carries the graphic clarity of traditional tattoo flash while being preserved through the quiet refinement of glazed ceramic craftsmanship.

Measuring 90 mm in diameter and 30 mm in height, this piece is designed as a small ashtray, desktop object, and collectible porcelain artwork. Due to its compact size, it is intended for regular use as a small ashtray and is not designed for cigar use.

Each piece belongs to the INKCLAW × FUHAI SUN Underglaze Tattoo Porcelain Collection, a crossover series in which tattoo imagery is not simply applied, but preserved through glaze, fire, and time.

Custom Bottom Mark Service

The bottom mark can be customized upon request for an additional fee.

Customers may personalize the base mark with selected text, initials, studio name, symbolic wording, or other approved content. When a custom bottom mark is applied, the original INKCLAW and Fuhai Sun artist signatures will still be retained in a smaller format, preserving the authenticity of the collaboration while allowing each piece to carry a more personal mark of ownership.
